J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines, wine sponsors of the Annual Benefit since 2008, hosted a six vintage tasting at Lohr headquarters on May 20th in San Jose.
Silicon Valley leaders on hand to greet guests were Art Takahara with his wife Sharon, Nobuko Saito Cleary and Gary Cleary, PharmD, PhD, Fred Brinkmann with his wife Cindy, Bill Stewart, and GRF President Tom Brunner with his wife Wallace.
Named the 2010 American Winery of the Year by Wine Enthusiast Magazine, J. Lohr offered a tasting ranging from a crisp Pinot Grigio to a dessert Reisling.
The Clearys, co-chairs of the Annual Benefit for two years, welcomed Consul General Hiroshi Inomata with his wife Midori, and Betty and Hiro Ogawa, table sponsors at the 2010 and 2011 Benefit.
Also attending from San Francisco: Masashi Oka, president of Union Bank, supporter of GRF's website since 2005 and Annual Benefit since 2008, and from San Ramon John Valentine, founder and president of Valentine Capital and Valentine's guests, Steve White, former NFL player, Gary Weaver, and Los Gatos restaurateur Steve Hauck. Mark Forchette, president of OptiMedica, Benefit supporters since 2008 with wife Addie-Marie enjoyed the tasting with Wallace and David Brunner and Sharon Takahara.
Bradford Hall and Deirdre Porter mingled with guests Anthony Ley, Diane Ciesinski, and Terry Austen, Sr. Vice President & Area Manager, Kaiser San Jose.
The Delta Gamma Fraternity, long-time supporters of Glaucoma Research Foundation, was represented by alumnae Dolores Fuller and Anne Hohenberger.
