How should I transport my eyedrop bottles?

A study done by researchers at the University of Miami’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute found bacteria in nearly one-third of patients’ eye care bottles. Researchers cultured the liquid in 134 eyedrop bottles belonging to glaucoma patients and found 25% to be contaminated. The contaminated eyedrops sampled in the study all had visible grime on the threads of the cap. When transporting your eyedrops, you may want to keep them in a sealed plastic bag or some other protective covering to help keep them clean.
