Reception and Science Update at the Harvard Club of New York City

May, 2005 - Thanks to the hospitality and leadership of Glaucoma Research Foundation board Vice Chairman C. Seth Cunningham, GRF had a chance to catch up with long time friends and donors on the East Coast.

Cunningham hosted a reception and science update at the Harvard Club of New York City on May 18th. The event featured an update on GRF’s activities by President and CEO Thomas M. Brunner, and an overview of the Catalyst For a Cure research collaboration by David Calkins, PhD (Vanderbilt University), one of the four lead scientists in the project. New Catalyst Circle members attending included Rob Petty, Managing Partner at Clearwater Capital Partners, and Barbara and Jack McGuinness, who traveled from Albany.

Other guests included long time GRF champion Jerome Cohen, George Jenkins who came up from Pennsylvania, Janet Ewenstein representing the Y. H. Mirzoeff & Sons Foundation, highly regarded glaucoma advocate Edith Marks, Christopher Morgan, and many others. Also attending was Sarah Caddick, PhD, the original coordinator of the Catalyst For a Cure program.
