On May 21st, we were proud to participate in the annual Soul Stroll for Health, promoting good nutrition and physical activity as keys to better health in the African America, Hispanic, and Pacific Islander communities.
At the Soul Stroll, Glaucoma Research Foundation board members Michael L. Penn, Sr. and Bill Stewart were joined by Wing-See Leung, Executive Director of Prevent Blindness Northern California, to disseminate information about glaucoma and eye health.

Over 2,500 “strollers” covered a five-mile route along the beautiful Bayfront path in San Mateo’s Coyote Point Park.
This year more than 150 strollers visited the Glaucoma Research Foundation information table. Popular publications included African Americans and Glaucoma, the Gleams newsletter, and the Spanish-language educational booklet Cómo Entender Y Vivir Con Glaucoma.
Soul Stroll for Health is sponsored by the African American Community Health Advisory Committee (AACHAC).
