Friends and supporters gathered at the San Francisco Yacht Club in Tiburon on April 20th for a lecture presented by Shan Lin, MD, Associate Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology, UCSF.
A reception followed, hosted by Cathy and Charlie Wilmoth along with Glaucoma Research Foundation Board member and co-founder John Hetherington, MD.
Dr. Lin's presentation Glaucoma: A Wide Spectrum of Disease covered many aspects of onset blindness including cataracts, glaucoma, retinal disease, and current treatments. The lecture was followed by a question and answer session that included questions to Dr. Lin, Dr. Hetherington, and GRF President Thomas Brunner.

Christopher meets Dr. Lin
After the formal presentation Charlie Wilmoth invited his son Christopher to join him on the stage. Since 2008, the Wilmoths have hosted an annual event for their friends and neighbors to learn more about glaucoma.
Charlie said, "I remember when Christopher was diagnosed with glaucoma, our immediate concern was for his quality of life. He is such a trooper." Christopher is an enthusiastic participant in sports including soccer martial arts and baseball. He told event guests that his favorite baseball player is San Francisco Giants' Buster Posey.
