1998 – GRF announces results of National Survey on Glaucoma
A survey conducted by GRF revealed that public awareness of the risk factors for glaucoma was extremely low. Among those in the high risk groups – African-Americans, people over 60, diabetics, and family members of people with glaucoma – awareness was no greater. Significantly, of those with African ancestry, only 11% were aware that they were at higher risk.
