1992 - First Annual Glaucoma Research Catalyst Meeting
In response to the need for more glaucoma research, the Glaucoma Research Foundation and the American Glaucoma Society launched the Glaucoma Research Catalyst program, a low-overhead, collaborative program designed to help stimulate glaucoma research nationally. For the next eight years, the annual Catalyst Meetings brought scientists together to discuss new cutting edge research ideas. Results from the first Catalyst meeting included a new patent for ocular therapy with homologous macrophages.
