1984 - Normal Tension Glaucoma (NTG) Think Tank Commences
The NTG Study was a collaborative effort of 24 research and medical centers around North America and Europe. The study evolved out of a Glaucoma Research Foundation research meeting in 1984 and was designed to answer the question of whether it is beneficial to lower eye pressure when it is already at a normal level. It was the first multi-center clinical trial to document that lowering eye pressure preserves vision in any form of glaucoma.
