Where Your Donations Go

Glaucoma is a serious vision disease and an "unseen" one. The public knows little about it. Many people with the disease are symptom-free until it is quite advanced. Then it’s too late because loss of vision due to glaucoma is irreversible.

Your contribution will be put to work on two fronts.

Innovative Research

First, your dollars support innovative, first-stage medical research into the causes and treatment of glaucoma—with the ultimate goal of finding a cure. Our decades-long history of supporting of leading edge research has made us the recognized leader in the field.

Education and Support

In addition we channel funds to alert and educate the public, stressing that glaucoma is the leading cause of preventable blindness in the U.S. Since glaucoma can be easily detected by a routine eye exam we encourage people with the simple message to check their eyes.

Working continuously on these fronts—prevention and research for a cure—we hope to one day put an end to glaucoma.

Since the Glaucoma Research Foundation receives no government support, any contribution you can make will be gratefully accepted and put to good use.
