F.T. Barr, PhD
Dr. Barr is the President and founder of Afex International, Inc., an international exploration company based in Houston, and Managing Director of its affiliate, South Atlantic Natural Resources, Ltd. Dr. Barr served on the GRF Board from 2003 to 2009.
In January 2007, Dr. Barr was the recipient of The Catalyst Award, GRF’s highest honor, presented for exemplary leadership in sustaining cutting-edge research. In December 2004, Barr presented the inaugural Catalyst Award to Steven and Michele Kirsch for their leadership role in the Catalyst For a Cure joint research consortium.
The Catalyst For a Cure collaborative research consortium is funded by a grant from the Melza M. and Frank Theodore Barr Foundation through the Glaucoma Research Foundation.
