John Hetherington, Jr., MD

Dr. Hetherington is Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of California at San Francisco and is a past president of the International Glaucoma Society. He is one of the founding physicians of the Glaucoma Research Foundation and has served on the Board since 1978.

In November 2008, Dr. Hetherington was awarded the GRF Vision Award for exemplary leadership in science and research. He is a frequent collaborator with The Washington Advisory Group in the organization of its Drabkin Symposiums and is Chair of the GRF Science Committee. He is in private practice at the San Francisco Glaucoma Center, and in Marin.
