Adrienne Graves, PhD

Dr. Adrienne Graves joined Santen Incorporated in 1995 as Senior Vice President, Worldwide Clinical Development, and was appointed President and CEO in 2002.

Prior to joining Santen, Dr. Graves served in several high-profile positions at Alcon Laboratories including Director of International Ophthalmology and Clinical Sciences. At Alcon, Dr. Graves was recognized with an award for technical excellence for her role in establishing visual function studies.

Before joining Alcon in 1986, Dr. Graves conducted research in visual psychophysics and electrophysiology at a number of prestigious institutions. As an undergraduate at Brown University, she studied under Dr. Lorrin Riggs. At Harvard Medical School/Children’s Hospital she conducted neurophysiological research under Dr. Anne Fulton. Dr. Graves then received her Ph.D. at the University of Michigan. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship in visual neuroscience at the University of Paris and is fluent in French. She is the author/co-author of more than 30 scientific articles.

Dr. Graves serves on the board of directors of the American Academy of Ophthalmology Foundation, the Pan-American Association of Ophthalmology, among others. She joined the Glaucoma Research Foundation board of directors in September, 2009.
